| In January 2000,
/x-tad-bigger>Conservation
International/x-tad-bigger>/color> and the /x-tad-bigger>
World Conservation Union’s Species Survival Commission/x-tad-bigger>/color>
released a report that highlighted twenty-five species of apes, monkeys,
lemurs, and other primates at risk of disappearing forever. /x-tad-bigger>Brush with Extinction/x-tad-bigger> is a project to produce a short series of four, 60-minute documentaries about the most endangered primates in the world and an artist’s journey to paint these rare animals before they become extinct. This website is a clearing house for information on the project, including a comprehensive documentary proposal, artist biography and gallery, and links to conservation organizations. The accompanying blog is designed to be a kind of online journal to track the progress in putting /x-tad-bigger> Brush with Extinction/x-tad-bigger> together. |
